House District 25 Issues

For years House District 25 has not had effective representation on issues that are vital. Veterans are dying in the street, children are being shot, and current leadership states these are “… not THE issues of Oregon.” Here’s why we need a Representative who shows up and why these are THE issues vital to HD25.

Discrimination in Schools

Students for years have been urging the Salem-Keizer School Board to address the mental health needs of immigrant students and stop policies that disproportionately punish students of color. The only difference now is that we're all listening.

Latinx
Latinx students make up 38.2 percent of the student body
but 49.1 percent of all expulsions
Black
Black students only make up 1.2 percent of the student body
but 3.6 percent of all expulsions.
Islander
Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander students make up 2.2 percent of the student body
but 4.8 percent of all expulsions.
White
White students make up 50.4 percent of the student body
but 31.5 percent of all expulsions.
